I think my parents would say I was an observant kid.
I have enjoyed asking questions and doing research to find why things are the way they are.
This space for the last couple years has been somewhere for me to have a creative outlet and learn out in the open how to make better investment decisions. I have used it to try to break down individual stocks, stay updated in the market, and gather things I am learning to better understand them.
With my new job, serving an advisor in Nashville TN, I’m in the type of business I have wanted to be in. I am able to learn the business of helping folks make wise financial decisions.
Working in the investment advisory industry brings restrictions on what I can and can’t talk about in public. For example, stock tips to a broad audience would be a compliance red flag.
Therefore the “Observations” newsletter is going to have to adjust from purely market commentary and individual stock analyzing to more broad observations.
What I am sure of is that I am committed to lifelong learning. I do not have a set template of things I want to write about but will start by writing on 3-4 things I have learned throughout the week, some related to markets, others related to books or history, or random musings/reflections which challenge my mind and hopefully give me/us a mental model to use in future decision making.
Thank you for continuing to read and support this “out in the open” journal.
